Civil Rights and Nondiscrimination Policy

Policy Statement

Restoration Hall Inc. is committed to equal access and nondiscrimination in its programs, services, activities, benefits, training, and other operations. Restoration Hall Inc. will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and will comply with applicable federal civil rights laws and regulations governing recipients of federal financial assistance.

Equal Access and Reasonable Accommodation

Restoration Hall Inc. will take reasonable steps to ensure that qualified individuals with disabilities have meaningful access to its programs and activities. Reasonable accommodations and appropriate communication assistance will be provided when required by applicable law. Requests may be directed to a Civil Rights Coordinator.

Limited English Proficiency

Restoration Hall Inc. will take reasonable steps to provide meaningful access to programs and services for persons with limited English proficiency. Depending on the circumstances and the needs of the individual, assistance may include qualified interpretation, translated vital information, or other appropriate language-access measures.

Civil Rights Coordinators

Restoration Hall Inc. designates Leonard Nelson and Kortney L. Hilson-Pitts as Civil Rights Coordinators. The coordinators are responsible for receiving civil rights concerns, coordinating reasonable access and language-access requests, maintaining appropriate compliance records, and helping ensure that Restoration Hall's programs and activities comply with applicable nondiscrimination requirements.

Complaints and Grievances

Any participant, applicant, beneficiary, or member of the public who believes that discrimination has occurred in a Restoration Hall Inc. program or activity may submit a complaint to a Civil Rights Coordinator. Complaints will be reviewed promptly, fairly, and without retaliation. Restoration Hall Inc. will document the complaint, review relevant information, communicate the disposition to the complainant when appropriate, and take corrective action when warranted. Nothing in this procedure limits a person's right to file a complaint with an appropriate federal, state, or local civil rights enforcement agency.

Notice and Communication

Restoration Hall Inc. will provide continuing notice of this nondiscrimination policy through appropriate program materials, its facilities and offices, and its website or other public communications as applicable. Restoration Hall will use accessible communication methods and will provide alternative formats or communication assistance upon request.

Demographic and Compliance Information

Where permitted and appropriate, Restoration Hall Inc. may collect and maintain demographic and program-access information needed to evaluate whether eligible populations are being served equitably and to meet applicable grant, civil rights, and reporting requirements. Such information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Non-Retaliation

Restoration Hall Inc. prohibits retaliation against any person for requesting an accommodation or language assistance, raising a civil rights concern, filing a complaint, participating in an investigation, or otherwise exercising rights protected by applicable law.

Administration

This policy applies to Restoration Hall Inc. programs and activities. The Executive Director and Civil Rights Coordinators are responsible for implementing the policy and recommending updates as legal, regulatory, or program requirements change.

How to Raise a Concern

A person who believes that discrimination has occurred in a Restoration Hall Inc. program or activity, or who needs a disability-related accommodation or language assistance, may contact either Civil Rights Coordinator. Complaints will be handled promptly and fairly, and retaliation is prohibited.

This notice is made available through Restoration Hall Inc.'s website and should also be posted prominently at Restoration Hall facilities and offices and included in appropriate program communications. Alternative formats or communication assistance are available upon request.
